This policy explains how Rooted Compassion, LLC (“Rooted Compassion,” “I,” “me”) collects, uses, and protects information you share when you visit this site, send a message, or subscribe to The Wellbeing Dispatch newsletter. I take your privacy seriously — this is written in plain language because you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your information.
What Information I Collect
I collect only what is necessary to respond to you or send the newsletter. Specifically:
- Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, and the message you write. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry.
- Newsletter signups: Your email address and the date you signed up. This is used to send you The Wellbeing Dispatch.
I do not use tracking pixels, behavioral analytics platforms, or advertising cookies. I do not collect information passively beyond standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) that are generated automatically when you visit any website.
How I Use Your Information
Your information is used for two purposes, and two purposes only:
- To respond to your contact form inquiry.
- To send you The Wellbeing Dispatch newsletter, if you’ve subscribed.
I do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with third parties for marketing or any other purpose. Full stop.
The Wellbeing Dispatch Newsletter
The Wellbeing Dispatch is sent monthly via Resend, an email delivery service. When you subscribe, your email address is stored securely and processed by Resend solely for the purpose of delivering the newsletter. Resend does not use your information for advertising or share it with other parties. You can review Resend’s privacy practices at resend.com/privacy.
To unsubscribe: Every newsletter issue includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you’ll be removed immediately. You can also email joyce@rootedcompassionllc.com and I’ll remove you manually.
Colorado Privacy Context
Rooted Compassion, LLC is based in Denver, Colorado. Colorado’s Consumer Data Privacy Act (CPA) provides Colorado residents with certain rights regarding their personal data, including the right to know what data is collected, the right to correct inaccurate data, and the right to request deletion.
Given the limited data I collect and my commitment to not sharing it, most of these rights are straightforward to exercise. If you’d like to know what information I hold about you, request a correction, or ask me to delete it, email me at joyce@rootedcompassionllc.com and I will respond promptly.
Important: This Is Not a Clinical Portal
Rooted Compassion’s website is a professional consulting and educational platform — it is not a clinical practice portal and is not subject to HIPAA as a covered entity.
Contacting me through this website does not establish a therapeutic relationship. The information you share via the contact form is not protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA, and submitting a message or subscribing to the newsletter is not a substitute for clinical care.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Data Retention
Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. Newsletter subscriber records are maintained until you unsubscribe, at which point they are removed from the active list. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
